…..I should note what happened at the end of Ancient Track, ‘cuz it was pretty darn crazy.
The boss of the dungeon was a Litwick with Fire Absorb. A LITWICK. WITH. FIRE ABSORB.
And y’know what that meant? I couldn’t do a DARN THING to it. NONE of my attacks worked. So, Servine, who was of course weak to Fire, had to do all the attacking, while I focused on takin’ out Litwick’s partner, a Mienfoo, ‘cuz I had nothin’ else to freakin’ do.
As expected, Servine didn’t take Litwick’s attacks too well. And I wanted to save my Oran Berries to get transferred to story mode. Luckily, Servine’s main attack was Mega Drain, but I was still worried. So, after I defeated Mienfoo, I used this item called an “All Dodge Orb” to raise my team’s evasiveness. Basically a Double Team, I guess. I just used it ‘cuz I wanted to do SOMETHING to help turn the fight around. I was desperate.
AND IT WORKED.
Servine almost fainted, but then Litwick MISSED and Servine then healed with Mega Drain. And, ‘cuz of Litwick’s low defenses, it only took one more attack after that to finish it off.
That was the CRAZIEST thing I’ve seen in a Mystery Dungeon game since I used Totter Seeds to beat Jirachi in Bidoof’s Wish back in Explorers of Sky. Crazy as in COOL, I mean. XD Luckhax can really come through for you!
I mean, when I first saw we had to beat a Litwick, I was like “Ooooh snap”, and when it absorbed my Flame Charge, I was panikin’. Seriously, that was pretty much the worst Pokemon to make the boss. To tell the truth, I almost gave up. I thought the game had put me in a “no win” situation. BUT WE DID IT!! We did it, and it was all thanks to that All Dodge Orb.
As a reward, I got not only the items in Pignite’s inventory, but a whole bunch of other items given at the end! I can’t remember exactly what they were, ‘cuz this was two days ago, but I remember there bein’ lots of hold items.
So, that Magnagate sure was fun, but it’s time for me to return to the main story!
